A former Michigan industrialist, Mr. Woods' entrepreneurial spirit and vision have propelled Palm Beach Media Group to a new level. After selling his plastics manufacturing business, Thermofil Inc., in 1989, Mr. Woods moved to Palm Beach. He purchased Palm Beach Illustrated magazine and its parent company, Palm Beach Media Group in 1991, and has heavily invested in the firm, bringing in extensive business and publishing talent, adding publication titles and upgrading facilities. Under his guidance, Palm Beach Media Group has launched a number of publications, including Naples Illustrated, Weddings Illustrated, Palm Beach Charity Register, Naples Charity Register, The Jewel of Palm Beach (the magazine of Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club), Traditions (the magazine of The Breakers resort), The International Polo Club Palm Beach Magazine, Neapolitan (the magazine of Waldorf Astoria Naples and Edgewater Beach Hotel), Fifth Avenue South (the magazine of Naples' Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District) and ONE Life (the magazine of ONE Sotheby's International Realty).
Mr. Woods, a Notre Dame graduate, is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys playing tennis. He also supports many children's and arts organizations in Palm Beach and Naples.
